As we prepare the schedules for Adult & Youth Readers, Lay Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, Greeters, Acolytes, Flower Guild, and Altar Guild for the beginning of the year to Easter, it’s a good time to sign up and get your name on the schedule! We ALWAYS have a need for more help in the leading of our services, so if you’re waiting to be asked to help, this is us asking! All are opportunities to deepen your own spirituality as well as helping the congregation deepen theirs. All are ways for you to contribute your gifts. We will train you in all of these areas, so fear not!
To illustrate our desire for more participation, here are our current numbers:
8:30 Readers: 5
8:30 LEMs: 3
8:30 Ushers/Greeters: 7
11:00 Adult Readers: 6
11:00 Youth Readers: 4
11:00 LEMs: 5
11:00 Ushers/Greeters: 8
11:00 Acolytes: 10
Flower Guild: 7
Altar Guild: 12 (who work in pairs)
So you can see that while we have dedicated people, we can always use your gifts! Many of these numbers reflect people who do multiple jobs, as well. If you can speak loudly and clearly, you can be a reader. If you can hold a chalice, you can be an LEM. If you are friendly and warm, you can be an usher or greeter. If you can hold a cross or torch, you can be an acolyte. If you can arrange flowers, you can be on Flower Guild. If you have an eye for detail and can set a table, you can be on Altar Guild! You probably have one or more of these gifts, so sign up today!
Please e-mail Fr. Jeff if you would be interested in any of these areas and he will get you on the schedule and get you in touch with the people who can train you.
