Say hello to St. Nicholas’ newest members! On Sunday afternoon, Bob Hamilton and Barbara Walker were received into the fellowship of the Episcopal Church and David Walker reaffirmed his baptismal vows. They were among 200 people who were either confirmed, reaffirmed, or received at Sunday’s service in Atlanta. As was reported in this week’s Connecting:
The April 29 diocesan confirmation service at the Cathedral of St. Philip filled the nave to the brim — balcony seating too — with more than 1,000 people. Bishop of Atlanta J. Neil Alexander was assisted by the Rt. Rev. Frank Allan in confirming and receiving more than 200 new Episcopalians. Photo below: Bill Monk View more photos here.
Fr. Jeff was happy to present Bob, Barbara, and David at the service. All three have been faithful participants of our monthly Episcopal 101 classes in the last year. If you would like to be confirmed, received, or reaffirmed, the next opportunity will be on October 7 when Bishop Alexander makes his next visit to St. Nicholas. If you’re not sure what it means to be confirmed, received, or reaffirmed, check out our Visitors & Newcomers page. If you would like to join our Episcopal 101 class, our next session will be May 20 at 9:45am.
