Zion Episcopal Church, Talbotton, Georgia
Father Jeff Jackson and the parish of St. Nicholas Episcopal Church and the Chattahoochee Valley Episcopal Convocation invite you to join them on Sunday, June 24th at 4:00 p.m. for a worship service at Zion Church in Talbotton, Georgia. Fellowship and light refreshments follow.
Zion, built in the 1840’s, is the oldest Episcopal Church owned by the Diocese of Atlanta. The building has been spared modernization and is a perfect replica of a typical English rural parish church of the Tudor-Gothic period. The altar, communion rail, lectern-pulpit, and prayer desk are handmade of native walnut. The entire structure is put together with wooden pegs and handmade iron nails. The pipe organ, a Pilcher, was installed in 1850 and has been in continuous use since that time. Zion Church is located at 100 Main Street in Talbotton.
