Recently, someone asked me from where does St. Nicholas draws its membership. I usually answer with the customary response, “From Harris County and beyond,” but I started wondering exactly what the residential demographics of our membership looks like today. Perhaps there are pockets within our county that we are not currently reaching. So I did this simple pie chart to show the areas St. Nicholas represents.
Pine Mountain: 24%
Hamilton/Pine Mountain Valley: 23%
Columbus/Phenix City: 19%
South Harris County (Cataula/Fortson): 10%
Southeast Harris County (Ellerslie/Midland/Waverly Hall): 10%
LaGrange/West Point/Hogansville: 6%
West Harris County (Lake Harding): 4%
Northeast Harris/Meriwether County (Shiloh/Warm Springs): 2%
In general terms, 1/4 of the congregation is from Pine Mountain, another 1/4 from the Hamilton area, another 1/4 from the smaller hamlets in Harris County, and another 1/4 from outside Harris County.
I hope this information is useful to you as you encourage your neighbors, friends, and family members to join us. Summer is a great time to invite someone to church!
