cross-lent-purple-drape-5And God Said by Susan Wiley

He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So he did not open His mouth.
But the Lord was pleased to crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.  Isaiah 53:7, 10

God said, “Let’s make a man
In our Image, replied the Spirit.
With free will,” added the Son.

God said, “Let’s give him dominion
Over all creation, replied the Spirit.
Tempered with love,” added the Son.

God said, “He’ll make some bad choices.
He won’t always obey, replied the Spirit.
He will kill Us,” added the Son.

God said, “When we die,
We’ll trample down death,” replied the Spirit.
“It will hurt. We will cry,” added the Son.

God said, “The day will be black.
The pain will be real, replied the Spirit.
Let me go,” added the Son.

God said, “Let the Word become flesh,
And dwell among men, replied the Spirit.
It will be silenced,” added the Son.

The angels trembled
While Sheol gaped.
Powers and dominions
watched amazed.

“It is finished, cried the Son.
I am coming, replied the Spirit.
God said, Behold my beloved Son.”
