Out & About - Exploration in Antiquities

As you know, the “Out and About” Event on Saturday, April 9 is fast approaching. Anne Simpson will need to know by this Sunday how many people are planning on going. The cost is $30 for adults and $17 for children 12 and under. The Museum opens at 10:00am.
There are some stony areas so wear good foot wear. If it is raining, it is covered outside so you won’t get wet. Our Biblical Meal is at 4:00pm and our Garden Walk is at 5:30pm after the meal. We would get there about 2:00pm as a group, but you can go sooner if you would like. Just tell them that you are with the St. Nicholas Group and pay as you go in. The price will be the same regardless what time you get there. Also, once Anne submits the names of people attending, if you do not go there will be a $10 no-show fee because of the price of the meal. If you have any other questions call Anne at 706-594-4547 or e-mail her at anneparmersimpson@yahoo.com.

Praying for ALL Saints

We will celebrate All Saints Day this Sunday, November 7! We will once again be gathering in front of the church and processing to the Memory Garden at the beginning of both services (weather permitting) to remember the many saints of our lives that have gone on into glory.
Please help us by e-mailing the full names of anyone you would particularly like to remember on that day to Fr. Jeff at fatherjeff@stnicholashamilton.org.
Remember to change your clocks back an hour on Saturday night before you go to bed as Daylight Savings Time ends!
Also, our Adult Formation class this Sunday will feature the Rev. Donna Gafford in the first of her two-part series on the Life and Work of St. Paul. After a short introduction to St. Paul’s life, we will explore the development of key theological issues that appear in his letters primarily by looking directly at the letters and considering their content. If you are interested in the New Testament, this class is for you!

At St. Nicholas, we hope to give everyone opportunities to grow in their faith, not just through rousing sermons (which happen from time to time), but through a variety of classes and discussions that allow participants to learn new things, build important relationships, and share their own life experiences with others. If you’re looking for a group to belong to, have questions about your faith, or want to learn more about your journey with Christ, then check out any of the following:

Studying The Shack
Adult Formation Sunday Mornings at 9:45am starting September 12
Though it has been a while since the church world was abuzz with commentary on The Shack, by William P. Young, it is chock- full of thought provoking conversations and ideas that beg discussion at any time… the “wastefulness of grace”, why God with all His power lets bad things happen, why we must forgive, etc.
Mollie Smith will be leading this 6-week class to hear of your experiences and responses to The Shack and hopes you’ll join the discussion.

This Sunday, August 29 at 9:45am, in part 4 of our 5-part Adult Formation Class, Faith & Finances, Chattahoochee Valley Episcopal Ministries (CVEM) Missioner Vicky Partin will be facilitating and showing a brief DVD called Waging A Living. The class will be hearing the stories of people, who, like many Americans, are working full time jobs but still cannot make ends meet. Hear their struggles and reflect with the class on issues of justice as we wrestle with what God is calling us to do.
Also, the Rev. Donna Gafford will be preaching and celebrating at both services as Fr. Jeff takes our youth to Camp Mikell on retreat.
