Christmas Eve Services at St. Nicholas

St. Nicholas Episcopal Church will celebrate the birth of Christ with two beautiful services on Christmas Eve.  The 5:00 p.m. service will feature the children’s Christmas Pageant, carols and the Eucharist.  The 11:00 p.m. service will be a celebration of the Eucharist and will also include carols.  Both services will have the choir and end with the congregation singing “Silent Night” by candle light.  Invite your family and friends to join you as the beautiful story of Bethlehem is told and we welcome the long awaited Jesus.

Christmas Pageant Rehearsal

All youth and children are invited to participate in our annual Christmas Pageant during our Christmas Eve family service at 5:00pm on Friday, December 24th.

There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the narthex where children or parents can sign up and request the role they would like to play. We cannot promise certain roles, but would like to know preferences. We need youth volunteers to fill certain roles: pageant narrator, the Angel Gabriel, Mary, and Joseph. Other roles include a star, wise men, shepherds, angels, animals (donkey, sheep, cow, etc.) The church will supply the costumes and props for the pageant.

Michelle Moody will direct the pageant this year and needs adult volunteers to help her. She will hold a rehearsal on Sunday, December 12th right after church. All the pageant actors and volunteers will be treated to a pizza lunch.

Christmas Eve, December 24, 5:00pm: Holy Eucharist Rite II with our annual Children’s Christmas Pageant and full selection of Christmas music. Come early to hear extra prelude music and to get a good seat!

Christmas Eve, December 24, 11:00pm: “Midnight Mass” Holy Eucharist Rite II with full selection of Christmas Music. Come early to hear extra prelude music and to get a good seat!

First Sunday after Christmas, December 27, 10:30am: COMBINED SERVICE of Lessons and Carols with full selection of Christmas music.

Second Sunday after Christmas, January 3, 8:30am & 11:00am: Back to our regular Sunday morning schedule.

First Sunday after the Epiphany, January 10, 10:30am: COMBINED SERVICE for Holy Eucharist followed by our Annual Meeting.
