Annual Mardi Gras Dinner, Tuesday, February 21, 2012

You are invited to the Annual St. Nicholas Mardi Gras Party!

February 21, 6:30pm

at Sheila Dixon’s home, 171 Manton Drive, Fortson

On Shrove Tuesday (the day before Ash Wednesday), we will honor the occasion with a Mardi Gras dinner at Sheila Dixon’s home in Fortson.

Come join us for fun, fellowship and food.

Please sign up for the dinner on the bulletin board in the church narthex or call Sheila Dixon at 706-322-9702 or 770-823-8928 to make your reservations. Donations will be accepted to cover the cost of the dinner.

Directions to the Dixons: From the church:

Go west on Highway 116 for 7.5 miles. Past I-185, take a left on Highway 219. Go 10 miles and take a right onto Manton Drive. The Dixon’s house is on the left, #171.

From Columbus:

Head north on River Road (Hwy 219). Drive approximately 10 miles. Left on Manton Drive. The Dixon’s house is on the left, #171.

Men’s Group Dinner, Tuesday November 15

On Tuesday, November 15, at 6:30 pm, The St. Nicholas Men’s Group will meet for a delicious Mediterranean dinner at Wood Stone Restaurant. Wood Stone is located at 7500 Veterans Parkway in Columbus.  Click Here for directions!

Blessing of the Animals, Sunday, October 9th, 5pm

Blessing of the Animals is October 9th at 5:00pm.

Fr. Jeff will bless all creatures great and small as we celebrate the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. All beloved animals, including teddy bears, are welcome. We will meet outdoors in front of the church at 5:00 p.m. For the safety of all humans and beasts, please have your vaccinated pet under control. We will have home-made dog treats, water, and human treats available. Come celebrate and bless these marvelous creatures of God’s creation.

Katherine Genova and the wonderful dogs from the Humane Society of Harris County will be attending. St. Nicholas will host a Microchip Clinic in connection with the event. If you are planning on getting a puppy, this would be a perfect time!

All the men of St. Nicholas are invited for dinner and fellowship! We’ve met a few times this year and have had a blast!

Parish Picnic

Parish Picnic at Blue Springs!

Mark your calendar for August 7 at 10:00 am as we will be gathering for our annual Parish Picnic on the grounds of Nancy Callaway’s beautiful Blue Springs home.  We will begin with worship, followed by our picnic, and swimming in their pool.  Please bring your own folding chairs, a dish, and some friends!!

All the men of St. Nicholas are invited for dinner and fellowship! We have met 2 times already and have had a blast!

Out & About Braves Game

The “Out and About” group invites everyone to see the Atlanta Braves take on the Washington Nationals on July 17, 2011. We will meet in the St. Nicholas parking lot just after the 10am service and caravan to Atlanta.

Men’s Group at Cannon Brew Pub

Attention men of St. Nicholas! You’re all invited to join us for our newly forming Men’s Group at the Cannon Brew Pub (click on the link for directions) on Tuesday, June 21 at 6:30pm for an evening of food and fellowship. Out & About: Flint River Tubing

Out and About Group will be going tubing on the Flint River with gathering for lunch after. Date of the event is 4 June with make-up date being 11 June. We will go on the 4th unless it is storming or calling for dangerous conditions. Please sign up on the board so we can have an idea of how many plan on attending. Cost is $15 per person for the tube. There are no additional cost. The bus leaves every hour, however, if we keep the time as is it will give everyone a chance to change into dry clothes before we head to lunch and hopefully beat the lunch crowd. For more information contact Heather @ tazchessie@yahoo.com
