Men’s Group at Houlihan’s

All the men of St. Nicholas are invited for dinner and fellowship! We have met 2 times already and have had a blast!

We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm various restaurants. The schedule for the remainder of the year is:

Out & About Braves Game

The “Out and About” group invites everyone to see the Atlanta Braves take on the Washington Nationals on July 17, 2011. We will meet in the St. Nicholas parking lot just after the 10am service and caravan to Atlanta.

Men’s Group at Cannon Brew Pub

Attention men of St. Nicholas! You’re all invited to join us for our newly forming Men’s Group at the Cannon Brew Pub (click on the link for directions) on Tuesday, June 21 at 6:30pm for an evening of food and fellowship. Out & About: Flint River Tubing

Out and About Group will be going tubing on the Flint River with gathering for lunch after. Date of the event is 4 June with make-up date being 11 June. We will go on the 4th unless it is storming or calling for dangerous conditions. Please sign up on the board so we can have an idea of how many plan on attending. Cost is $15 per person for the tube. There are no additional cost. The bus leaves every hour, however, if we keep the time as is it will give everyone a chance to change into dry clothes before we head to lunch and hopefully beat the lunch crowd. For more information contact Heather @ tazchessie@yahoo.com

Sign Up For Lunch at the Bluegrass Mass!

Don’t forget to join us on Sunday, May 8 for ONE SERVICE at 10:00am for a very special Sunday where we’ll be joined by the Summer Chapel Band of Highlands, North Carolina for music from the Appalachian tradition. Led by Mark Lassiter, this group offers an “old-time” worship experience with guitars, banjos, and mandolins. Following the service, we will gather for a fried chicken lunch on the lawn! Read more

Holy Week Lunches at PMFUMC

First United Methodist Church of Pine Mountain will be hosting lunches April 18-22 from 12noon until 12:50pm in the Family Life Center of the church. Sandwiches and drinks will be provided by area churches, including St. Nicholas on Wednesday. There will be a short sermon/devotion to remind us that for the church, this holy week is like no other. We invite you to join us each day of the week. No reservations necessary. Hosts for the week are FUMC of Pine Mountain, First Baptist Pine Mountain, St. Nicholas, and Hopewell UMC. Making Palm Crosses

In Preparation for Palm Sunday–Learn to fold palm crosses!

On Friday, April 15, at 10:00am please join the Altar Guild in making Palm Crosses for Palm Sunday on April 17.

This is a very spiritual and enjoyable way to participate in the churches preparations for Easter. Anyone interested in helping is welcome!

Brunch will be served.

Last Lenten Series Tuesday Night

Our fifth and final 2011 Lenten Series program and dinner will be tomorrow night, April 12th, 6:30 p.m. at St. Nicholas.  The complete Greek dinner (including dessert) is being prepared by Sheila Dixon, so there is no need to bring a dish.  Donations will be accepted.  If there are any questions regarding the dinner, please contact Rebecca Crowley at (706) 570-6429.

Our own Scott Crowley will present the program “Inspirational Music of Johnny Cash“,  in which he explains how he used his music in his prison ministries.  You will not want to miss this interesting discussion, especially if you weren’t able to attend his Adult Formation series on on this topic.
