lobsterfest-logoThis past Sunday, the Lobsterfest Committee met to debrief this year’s event and to receive the final numbers of what we raised. Thanks be to God, and to the wonderful work of our committee, the final net profit that we raised was $20,893.51!

The Committee thought it would be helpful to you all to see exactly our income and expenses to see where this number came from. Thanks to the hard work of our financial administrator Dorothy Webster, who handled the Lobsterfest finances during our triennial audit, here is Lobsterfest by the numbers: Read more

lobsterfest-logoLobsterfest is filling up quickly, and our reservation deadline is Wednesday, September 15! If you want to make your reservations for delicious, succulent, fresh Maine lobster, or mouth-watering beef tenderloin, you need to do so quickly! You can order online by clicking on Louie the Lobster to the right of this page, you can contact Sue Halmrast at dhalmrast@aol.com or Linda Sawyer at hogback@wavetel.us, or you can call the church office at 706-628-7272 to make your reservations.

Our Silent Auction has a tremendous amount of awesome pieces, including UGA/GA Tech football tickets, Masters Practice Round tickets, vacation homes, artwork, jewelry, and even a few fun surprises.

Volt

One such addition to the auction is High Voltage, or “Volt.” Volt was born under the power line in the Piedmont neighborhood. Phebe Robertson, an animal loving St. Nicholas parishioner had been feeding his mother for a year and a half trying to gain her trust. When the puppies were born, Phebe and her husband rescued them and their mother and turned them over to Kathryn Genova and The Humane Society of Harris County. We hope to get Volt adopted the evening of Lobsterfest and to raise awareness of the plight of homeless animals in Harris County where there is currently no permanent shelter. Volt’s adoption fee will start at $145.00 (to cover the cost of shots and neutering,) The Humane Society will be reimbursed for that amount.

Volt has been neutered and has all his age appropriate vaccinations. Volt comes with his crate, which makes house training a breeze, his blankie, a training video, a bag of puppy chow, water and food bowl and a collar and leash. He just needs a wonderful family to love.

This is an event not to be missed, so come as we help St. Nicholas and have a fantastic time!

It will be a wonderful night full of fun, friends, family, and fellowship.

Each 1 & 1/2 lb. lobster is shipped fresh directly from Maine. Beef tenderloin is also available for non-lobster-eaters. Roasted potatoes and cole slaw will be served with both meals on the side. There will also be homemade cakes and pies served to order. Children’s plates are also available with a hot dog, chips, a cookie, and a drink. A cash bar with beer and wine will also be open.

Entertainment will be provided by the Main Street Trio of LaGrange, Georgia. Bring your dancing shoes!

We’ll also have a silent auction which will include many wonderful items including vacation home rentals, artwork, and many other things! Don’t forget that we’ll be drawing the winner of our golf cart raffle!
