Vestry

The Vestry is the administrative body of lay leaders of St. Nicholas. They are elected by the congregation to 3-year terms. They meet monthly to pray, discuss, and make important decisions. Each Vestry member is responsible for a certain area of ministry. They are all hard workers and each brings their specific gifts to make St. Nicholas a wonderful, Spirit-filled place. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact any of them.

Peggy Martin, Senior Warden: The Senior Warden is the lead lay position on the Vestry, chosen by the Rector. The Senior Warden serves to support the ministry of the Rector and meets regularly with Fr. Jeff to move our vision forward. She also serves to support the other members of the Vestry as a back-up when they need an extra hand. You can contact Peggy at peggym132@gmail.com.

Drucye Price, Junior Warden & Communications: The Junior Warden is elected by the Vestry to serve as “the People’s Warden.” The Junior Warden serves at the pleasure of the congregation and brings any ideas or concerns before the Vestry. In addition, Drucye is our liaison for communications. Communications is the umbrella term for all our efforts in communicating to the congregation, the community, and the world. Drucye organizes all our advertising and communication tools, including the newsletter, e-mails, and this very website. She also publicizes all our events, services, and other gatherings. You can contact Drucye at Drucye.Price@mchsi.com.

Graham Horne, Outreach: Graham serves as a connecting point to all our outreach and mission efforts including FOCUS, CVEM, Relay for Life, and all other outreach ministries. He connects people to these ministries and reports on what opportunities are out there for serving Christ by serving the “least of these.” Graham also is one of our youth leaders, and he helps plan and implement our youth programs. You can contact Graham at graham.horne@gmail.com.

Chris Butzon, Buildings & Grounds: Every church has physical plant needs, and Chris is the steward to help keep our building and grounds a warm and beautiful place for all people. Chris handles anything from broken sinks to paving walkways, from yard work to cleaning services. As Martha did a lot of the nitty-gritty work while Mary sat at the feet of Jesus, so too does Chris work to make St. Nicholas a special place. You can contact Chris at chris.butzon@gmail.com.
